Need for the establishment of a Center of Excellence for Western Nigeria

Now that the DAWN’s Commission is firmly in place in Ibadan, establishing a regional Center of Excellence would represent another milestone for the advancement of the DAWN’s Agenda.

The principal objectives of the Center would be to: support the work of the Commission; to link the critical entities engaged in DAWN’s implementation; and to develop a practical model framework from a perspective that is necessary to ensure the role of technology, science, statistics, data and use of theory of economic development to help drive the implementation of every project.

Those who have been saddled with the implementation of the Agenda must know that implementing DAWN would depend on much more than ensuring cooperation between all tiers of state governments in the region – as important at that may be.
